Age 4-5

The Tiny Toddlers class is designed for 1 year old’s and focuses primarily on growing and learning through social interaction and tactile play.  Toddlers will have many opportunities to explore their world inside the classroom and on the playground each day.

They begin learning the concepts of colors, shapes, and sizes through sensory activities and the use of age appropriate manipulatives and artwork.  Tiny Toddlers will begin understanding daily procedures like circle time that includes songs, movement, and story time.

The Terrific Two’s program builds on the foundations established in Tiny Toddlers.  We begin to introduce a more structured daily routine and daily schedule.  Your child will continue to learn through imaginative play and social interaction, as well as guided sensory and academic activities.

Your child’s vocabulary will grow through daily story time and instruction centered around letter recognition.  In addition, your child will begin to learn the foundations of math concepts through activities such as:

  • Sorting items by shape, size, and color

  • Counting

  • Experimenting with textures

Terrific Two’s grow their understanding of colors and shapes and fine motor skills  through artwork and enjoy time on the playground daily!

Thoughtful Three’s have the opportunity to explore learning centers and engage in dramatic play.  In addition, each day, Thoughtful Three’s will participate in circle time in which students discuss weather and temperature, work on letter recognition and some letter sounds, and continue identifying shapes, colors, and sizes.

Daily table activities help to grow each child’s fine motor skills through letter and line tracing, cutting with safety scissors, and puzzles.  Student’s begin to understand number concepts like adding and subtracting by sorting and counting groups of tangible materials.  Teachers use story time to begin exploring characters and story plots by asking questions like, “What do you think will happen next?” and “Who is the main character in this story?”.

Each day, Thoughtful Three’s play outside and learn fun songs with exciting movements!

Fantastic Four’s are tackling the task of prepping for kindergarten!  Children are engaging in a structured classroom with clearly defined daily procedures.  Each day, students begin with an activity designed to promote letter recognition and grow fine motor skills such as:

  • Letter and line tracing

  • Cutting straight lines and shapes with safety scissors

  • Identifying objects that begin with the “Letter of the Week”

  • Lacing and tying

  • Puzzles

Children explore learning centers and engage in dramatic play in addition to circle time, songs, movement, and art.  Circle time begins with the “Question of the Day” and continues with sight word recognition, letter sounds, basic mathematical functions, and character education.  Our program is designed to promote social emotional skills such as listening, understanding feelings, and conflict resolution.

Teachers build on basic mathematical skills by introducing patterns, graphs, reasoning, and problem solving. Students are given the opportunity to express themselves creatively through guided artwork and craft and through artistic free “play” – painting, coloring, drawing.

Fantastic Fours enjoy daily songs and movement and outdoor playground time!
